A note of thanks from the president of the St. John Chrysostom Clergy Brotherhood
Dear ALL,
Well, it was quite an evening! A blessing for our community and the hearts of those directly involved. What a way to "re-open" our mission and Orthodox voice to Southeast Michigan.
For the months of long rehearsals by the members of the Orthodox Choir of Detroit, and the even longer time of serious preparation by that little choir director, Matushka Victoria Kopistiansky, we are more than grateful. For the numerous choirs that took part in the performance, we are grateful. For the offering of and arrangement of Saint George Cathedral for rehearsals, printing of copies, etc. (over the years!), we are grateful. For the (I have to say it) enormous amount of time and energy (in ways known and unknown) offered by the Choir's Manager and member, Subdeacon John Lazar, we are grateful. For Olga and the COCC board, Adam and FOCUS Detroit, and Wow! the OCW! And Bishop Andrei who came because he really wanted to be there, and for his closing words of encouragement, we are grateful. And certainly for the large number of attendees who came from near and far, and who left happy and filled with peace and wonder ... yes, wonder, we are grateful.
Thank you ALL. This priest is ever grateful to you and for you, for that amazing concert and for all you do for the "Church of Detroit".
Affectionately,
Father Laurence
