Help Fresh Start Detroit feed and clothe the needy
DETROIT, MI [COCC] -- Fresh Start Detroit, a ministry of the COCC, is currently collecting food, hygiene and limited clothing items for distribution to homeless persons in downtown Detroit.
This outreach effort address not only the basic needs of individuals on the streets, but also seeks to help transition them from their current state to self-sufficiency. Special attention is also given to identify and assist our homeless military veterans.
In the spirit of love and concern for our fellow men and women in great need, our Orthodox Christian parishes are asked to collect non-perishable food, hygiene and clothing items. CLICK HERE for a flyer with a more detailed listing.
If you would like to make a monatery donation in lieu of items, your gift will be used to purchese items needed to fulfill distribution needs.
Items are collected throughout the year. For more information, and to arrange a pick-up of items, please call Subdeacon Jerome Fisher (313-407-1888) or Richard Shebib (248-345-9346).
